With the explosion of mobile communication devices over the last few years it could be said that on average more than a thousand devices are either lost or stolen. A few years back if one of these unfortunate occurrences was to befall you, then you had no choice but to resign yourself to the fact that if anyone where to replace the sim card on your handset that they might be able to use your device. Not only that but they would have access to the information stored on your handset.

Mobile phones have become the sole means by which many people in developing countries have access to the internet. The same mobile device that many of them use to conduct their financial matters, as many of the banks in these countries have developed systems to cater specifically for these needs. A prime example of this can be seen in South Africa where a large percentage of the population don’t have any means by which to access the internet via an ADSL or fixed line.

As the digital and more overly the mobile revolution sweeps across the globe so the need for mobile tracking become apparent. Therefore it becomes understandable that if the device that many of these people where to be lost that they in essence would be cut off and would have to travel man y miles in order to not only conduct business but to also remain in contact with their loved ones. We know that RIM the company that manufactures Blackberry has taken not of these needs. They have developed an ingenious piece of software that in the event you have misplaced to handheld that by logging into their website you would be able to not only detect (in close proximity) where you might have misplaced your telephone but also to erase all the data that it contains. The best feature by far is the ability to remotely lock your handheld so that nobody would be able to access your device without the correct password which you can also change remotely.

If it’s merely a case of “Oops, I have misplaced my telephone somewhere in the home” you once again login to the Blackberry website and active a function that plays a tune on the devices loudest setting thereby enabling you to locate your handheld effortlessly. The need for a cellphone location tracker is clear as many of the more sophisticated devices do sell for a pretty penny.
